weight loss, yay!
as of today (15 days into my diet) i have lost 5.5 lbs.  the first 4 lbs. came off the first week, and the next 1.5 came off the second week.  this diet is actually pretty easy to stick to (1600 cals/day roughly, and whatever exercise i can fit in).  i think i lost more weight the first week because i was getting more exercise then.

i'm getting comfier with my weight as it drops down, though my goal is still 34 more lbs. honestly, i'd be happy with even 24 more, as that would be a lower weight than i've been at in a long time, and one at which i'd be totally ok with.

Yaaaay for weight loss!

I'm trying to lose 15 myself. I just started so no actual loss yet, but I'm waiting for the pants to start feeling looser. (Hell, I'm waiting to be able to button them!)

No, you lost more weight the first week because of water loss. This always happens at the beginning of a diet. Don't get discouraged if some of the weight creeps up a slight bit or the loss slows down. What you lose from here on out is more permanent fat loss.

I envy you. I keep telling myself I need to lose weight. And I know what I need to do. I just have been completely incapable lately of getting any plan or routine going to improve my health. Keep up the great work!

nope, pretty sure it's from the exercising. i had been dieting somewhat before starting the current plan, and i did get about 6+ hrs. exercise in that particular week.

I hope you're right, but the dieticians I've worked with (and some articles I've read online — this is an important issue for me too, obviously) would disagree. One simply does not burn enough calories from exercise to lose that much weight in one week.

How do you keep your caloric intake to 1600. That's impressive! I can't seem to will myself to do that anymore. That's the real key to sustained weight loss.
