subway performer

y'all are probably going to think i'm nuts, but it's always been a dream of mine to be a subway performer.  and this year i've resolved to do things i haven't done before, things that are scary to me...and i want to be a subway performer this year.  i want to sing a variety of songs (dar williams, ingrid michaelson, regina spektor...things in that range).

i need someone who'd be able to play guitar for me, though.  i'd be willing to pay for their performer's permit in exchange for part of one day of practice a week and part of one day (possibly weekend) playing at a station...and half of whatever we'd make.   know anyone that might fit that bill (if so, please let me know!)

nuts, i know, but i've really wanted to do this for a while!

Wish I played guitar! I've been a subway performer (vocalist in a folk trio) and it's tons of fun. I'd try Craigslist for finding a guitarist. There are plenty out there.

You're not nuts. That's been a dream of mine too, for a long time. In fact, I'd offer to play guitar, but I am so seriously out of practice that you're probably better off finding somebody who plays regularly. :-/

Not nuts at all - go for it! Subway musicians are cool. SawLady.com/blog has interesting info about musicians in the NYC subway - I think it takes a lot of guts to play in the subway.
