i have bought more cold medicines and remedies in the past 3-4 days than i have in the previous 3 years combined.  i have been super-sick for about three days now, with no sign of getting better (i'm planning to go to the doctor's tomorrow).  my throat is super-sore, my nose is constantly running, and i don't have the energy to even get up and take a shower.  

luckily, jon has been the most awesome boyfriend ever and has been taking care of me - making sure my humidifier is full, that i have enough sicky supplies, and generally being very comforting.  i don't know what i did to luck out and get him as a boyfriend, but boy, i sure do love and appreciate him!

My latest love is ginger preserves (you can get them at Whole Foods) stirred into a cup of tea. When my throat is sore it is the best thing ever, and I'm not an enormous ginger fan most of the time.

thanks for the tip! right about now, i'd be willing to down just about *anything* to make my throat stop hurting.
