update, i guess
the good:
*dinner with [info]gilanaat wagamama.  i had totally written them off last time when i got a very sub-par noodle dish, but am really glad i gave them another try as the chicken katsu curry i had last night was possibly the best thing i have eaten in over a year.  i just about licked the plate clean!  i also got to try edamame at  [info]gilana's suggestion, which was very interesting/tasty.  also excited about the new year's eve party we're planning.

*my relationship with [info]valadil.  i love this boy, i really do.  he makes me so happy, and makes me laugh all the time.  going on three months and no arguments - just snuggles and love and happiness (and squirrels).

*i got two packages in the mail of stuff that was just *perfect.*  online shopping is so tricky sometimes, and it's always sort of a toss up if i'll actually like the stuff i get/if it will be decent quality (and with shipping often very costly, upsetting if i don't like it) - but i got a pair of northface winter boots (nuptse booties) and a xmas present for my mom's boyfriend (wallet made of train ticket material - he's a big railroad buff) which were both absolutely gorgeous, well-made, and perfect!  a very pleasing feeling.

*i'm really enjoying my job.  despite the occasionally monotonous and slow day, it's often very challenging, i've had lots of opportunities to learn new things/expand my skill set (like taking training classes in excel, etc.), and have plenty of contact with *real* people, which i often haven't had in other jobs (barring the job at ann taylor, which was *too much* human contact).

*the scarf i'm knitting for my mom for xmas is going along SO much more quickly than the last one (which took me about 6 mos. to finish, mostly due to boredom with it) - and i love the yarn i'm using, which is a super-soft, very thick organic cotton (the only flaw is that it sheds a bit).  i plan to buy more of the stuff in the near future to use - i'm really rather fond of it.

We NEED to hang out sometime (by the way, I already told [info]gilana, but I will definitely be coming to your New Year's Eve party). I'm sure you and the boy are busy together (ahem ahem) a lot, but let me know when you're free and we'll figure out something to do.

We should have knitting nights!! Wednesdays are good for me too. Speaking of Wednesdays, where ARE you? Making marshmallows is not right without you! (And I waited to long to put them in the pan and they got all lumpy!) However, I want to make them again for John's party on Saturday, maybe we can get together before then?

Also, our household, including the cats, thanks you for the card!!

I went to Wagamama this week too! Isn't it awesome? I especially like it when they take out the PDAs the place the order to the kitchen.

Sorry friends are being withdrawn. If it was me, I'm sure you'd tell me, so I'm assuming it's some other situation I know nothing about.
